Species: Aedes implicatus

Importance:

This species is considered a forest species and is not numerous enough to be of much importance in the state.

Biology:

This species overwinters in the egg stage. Larvae are found in temporary pools and are among the first to appear in the spring.

Identifying Characteristics:

Pointed abdomen, no leg banding, scales on mesokatepisternum (largest sclerite on the side of the body) do not extend to the anterior angle, proboscis and palpi dark scaled.
