Species: Aedes cataphylla

Importance:

Not of major importance in the state because of its rarity.

Biology:

Overwinters in the egg stage. Larval habitats include grassy pools along river banks, and roadside pools.

Identifying Characteristics:

Pointed abdomen, no leg banding, pale scales on wing confined to base and anterior part of wings.
